Introduction
“Mechanics’ lien laws are complicated and vary considerably from state to state.” Because of state-to-state variability, this paper will focus specifically on the history and substance of Idaho lien law and briefly discuss a state appellate case that emphasizes the importance of following the ‘letter of the law.’ An appendix has also been included to assist the reader in filing a mechanics’ lien in Idaho and complying with Idaho lien code.
